Introduction Course to Human Factors and Crew Resource Management for non-flying personnel
Like many other industries, aviation has a language of its own. What does it mean when your colleagues talk about ‘CRM’ or ‘TEM’, and what is implied when aviation crew are trained in assertiveness, vigilance, or resilience?
This three days course is an introduction to the concepts of Human Factors (HF) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) for administrative personnel working within the aviation industry (CAA, HR, OCC, scheduling, etc.). On this course we will introduce how HF and CRM emerged, how it has evolved over time, and what this means in the industry today. We will cover the EASA syllabus for initial operator’s CRM training (AMC1 ORO.FC.115) (Table 1) through the lens of non-flying personnel with the aim of facilitating a basis for the different concepts within HF and CRM.
